what to do, to get through lockdown

The place to kick back, relax, post general bullshit, and grill a few on the BBQ. Whatever doesn't fit into another forum would go here. We periodically go through and move posts to the correct forum, but we do charge a case of Beer every time we have to.

what to do, to get through lockdown

SO, anyone picked up a new skill, new hobby ?
I, got to see my driveway was in a real shit order, so have relaid all the flags, well, all bar last three :hysterical:

and the back garden here was more a tip than garden, so that too has been attacked, and as we speak is going under a thorough development, gone is the lawn the previous owners hound used for hole digging practice, and the new patio area is coming on nicely :)
will add pictures soon, but just about to go back to work, got another 4 nights to get through

stay safe all

New baby how's that ;-)

Other than that nope. I was classed as an essential worker early on so I've been expected to be on call and checking email/Teams the whole time.
Builder has actually started putting up our house again. We've got the frame up finally with the felt and tiles to go on next week.
He says we'll be in for end September, I think he's blowing hot air out his arsehole tbh.

I almost wish I had some DIY to do. But we're in a rental so I'm doing nowt.

TBH I don't even have time to wash the cars. Mine is only clean coz the garage washed it when it was in for a recall.

the basic idea is that the garden is WAY too small to be anything other than a social area, and a lawn is also WAY to labour intensive to be viable
so I decided that a patio would be a good idea, the middle bit, offset by around a handful of degrees :hysterical: is there to give something to look at, otherwise it would be just a solid block of the old flags, which were layed where the garage now is.
where the flags touch the centre section, if they are leaving a small triangular bit, I intent to plant aromatic plants there, again, for interest, as well as the aroma
the post in the second picture is one of two, there will be a trellis between them, and a couple of climbing plants, again, aromatic for both the looks and the scent

it is going to take a wee bit longer than I thought, as I am gradually falling to fecking bits
and it is starting to take longer to recover after any particularly strenuous day :P
am also wiring the garage, as well as building workbenches and shelving
also flooring out part of the attic so I can hide some of my junk up there too :)

this is ALL down to the bloody WFH, I don't actually have any additional time off, but it was just the sheer fact that I can now no longer go anywhere, even though last year, I also couldn't go anywhere, but that was down to a lack of funds, this year, with the lockdown, even though I STILL have no funds to actually get out :P it was the fact I CAN'T go that kickstarted all of this LOL

so, still smashing myself to bits in the garden :hysterical:
have now managed to complete getting power to the garage, sockets - that are fixed - working, two to complete, lighting going in, outside for the garden complete

also noticed AGAIN, that the guttering on the conservatory has a sag in it, so the water can't run off, have dropped the lot, re-arranged the placement of the clips and reset the gutter, now it is level, but where it turned the corner, it went UPHILL ffs, so off to B+Q fora spare corner unit, as dopey bollox here managed to break it ................
it is now in place and the run from the corner to the downpipe was removed, redrilled the brackets to lower them 1/4 of an inch, all back in place, just need it to rain to prove :P won't have long to wait, this IS the UK after all :)
and still plodding along sorting the flag laying

one issue, I started off and allowed a bit of leeway in the bubble gauge, so NOW, there is a distinct SLOE in the feckers ffs :hysterical:
will have to go back, lift and relay several of them, and also sort the lining blocks too, which is a pain, as the blocks were laid on a dry concrete mix, so I could hammer the bastards flat, and the concrete could go off / harden to hold them in place ................
so yea, that :P :)

but the reality is that I am actually out here doing stuff, ME

and one day it will be done, I will probably drop dead in shock come that day, but hey ho
at least the garden will be done LOL

stay safe all
