It means the AP if far away - signal strengh - but it is only a very rough guess and any number of things could make it inaccurate.

Cool, so if its far away I take it cracking the AP will be much more difficult?

Depends if you can still send / receive packets to / from it or not.

Cheers! I can see a list of stations when I use airodump-ng wifi0 but in the BSSID column they all say (not associated), what exactly does this mean?

If they were associated to a BSSID could I then use Mac changer to change my MAC address to the same thing and get access to the AP even if MAC filtering was turned on?

Cheers,
M

In kismet let it scan, choose the network you want and press C (for clients).

It means exactly that - it is not associated to any wireless network..

Every question you have asked so far is pretty much answered here:

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2069&p=21533#p21533

and also in the other tutorials in the same section on the topic.

You'd be better off reading though it and then asking your questions.

Hi guys
I am using new AiroWizard and it opens OK but the problem is when I start Airservr-ng and it asks me is my network card an Atheros xxx. I press yes and then press enter and the DOS window that Airserv-ng opened closes completely? OK Can you please let me know why the DOS windows keeps closing when I enter y and then press return? Is it some setting I have done wrong? so I can't do anything what I have to do about this issue.
Jully
