Odd jobs

The place to kick back, relax, post general bullshit, and grill a few on the BBQ. Whatever doesn't fit into another forum would go here. We periodically go through and move posts to the correct forum, but we do charge a case of Beer every time we have to.

(I work for a contracting agency specialized in UNIX experts)

So my boss calls up one of our clients. The client happens to be looking for a "ICT support" employee.
And what are the job specifications?
The woman on the other end:
1st line support - ok, not really our thing (we all have at least 10 years experience)
ITIL - we can do that (it's crap but we can deal with it)
Microsoft - errr.... (we're all unix experts)
And....... Facility management - Huh?

My boss asks, what does facility management mean?
The women replies, restocking the toilet roles

WTF? Seriously. What. The. F***!

I'm up for some wordplays

They were probably doing a big role-out.
It's a nice function but it's the wrong role
Role confirming function
Windows management fits nicely together with toilet management.

Wow. Looks like the job market is worse than I thought!

It would suck to be level 1 support right now. Long hours, crap pay, restocking the TP. Sad thing is I don't really doubt it. I was doing level 1 only a couple years ago (which means I'm not allowed to knock it yet) and it was nearly to that point, particularly on night shift. If you didn't have something to do, they would find something entirely pointless for you to do. I nearly got fired for writing and distributing a batch script to do some tedious task they wanted us to do manually, 1,400 times.

I'm definitely not knocking level 1 support. I also started out with that, but for me that was about 15 years ago

But I've never, ever, had to manage *bleeping* toilet paper.

I used to say I fixed everything that was plugged in and didn't make food, now you have to fix that plus everything that is plumbed in and gets rid of food.

Thank fuck I don't do that any more.
