I think the author has never actually worked with Exchange or as a System Admin. The whole thing reads as an anit-Microsoft article and is of very little use.

Bury it! Muwhahahahah

What a fricken idiot...

all you need to do is redirect the archive to a mapped drive on the server...then it gets backed up...I usually use the My Docs or users home folder

No. It puts your vital email on your hard drive. One crash and POOF! All your old email is gone. Forever. Hard drives crash, usually without warning. I’ve had two hard drives crash in just the last week.
Tsk Tsk...well dummy if you had of set it up correctly in the first place, then nothing gets saved to the users hard drive....obviously doesn't know how to archive...

More importantly, Dalek, this paragraph gives us valuable insight into this monkey's character. Two hard drives crash in one week? He must be buy crap drives. In other words, he's cheap. One of those idiots that probably builds systems for under $400 (US) and sells them for $1800. I've met wastes of space like that and my only thought tends to be something along the lines of...

DAMN, THIS DUDE NEEDS TO QUIT BREATHING MY AIR.

Hard drive crashes tend to describe alot of things...other then a harddrive failure....such as scumware infection, OS errors, bad drivers etc

Oh...and because a POS harddrive fails to spin up again...it must be MSes fault
