Victim was killed by excitement after winning a rigged competition to hump 1 dozen porn stars.

It's the way I'd choose to be murdered.

SirDice: Yes, absolutely.

Asp: Ummm no. Besides, it ain't murder if your victim is willing, it's assisted suicide - and I've heard that coronary at the point of orgasm is quite the unpleasant thing to endure. Someone dig up Ghengis Khan and ask him. He died that way.

Dino: Yes, and that's a crucial clue. (and we'll overlook that rule since y'all are jumping at it and the thread's slowing down. Ask away, just don't post me a list of more than say...5 or so at a time).

Timaxe: Yes, you could say that.

Keezel: Not of stage and screen, but yes. [edit]Hmm. I misread your question. The murderer was most definitely not an actor or actress. The victim, however, was but not of stage or screen.[/edit]

I'm assuming you meant the one a day rule is suspended for all.

Was the victim drugged?

(i.e. trapeze artist or tight rope walker drugged prior to act)

Did the murderer swap a wild animal for a trained one?

Was the victim stepped on by an elephant?

That's all I've got for today.

Trapeze artist killed by their partner. They deliberately failed to make the catch.

Could apply for any dangerous display. Tightrope walker distracted by clowns/oiled rope, lion tamer with meat soaked clothes (or something else lions find yum).

OK So the victim was shot out of a cannon and the murderer was... Bozo the Clown! (in the tent with the lighter)

Keezel: no, no, no.
Red: no.
Asp: The victim was indeed the trapeze artist, and he did fall to his death. His partner failed to make the catch, but was not the murderer. In one fell swoop you've found both victim and cause of death. Now catch that Killer!
Dino: no.

Today's Hint: Find that murder weapon and you've found your killer.

The murder weapon is a knife and it was used by his partner to cut through the ropes on the trapeze, which let go and he fell to his death... :breakfast:

red: nope. try again. The trapeze rigging and all other trapeze gear was functioning normally with zero sabotage. The artists were, however, working without a net, but that's pretty common among daredevil performances as well.

Hmmm something to ensure that the cause of death was accidental but that guarantees that the accident will happen.

Something to injure or tire the artists arms before the event.
Or something to distract the artist in mid swing.

Did the guy setting up the tent move the swings further apart?
Did the partner of the victim stand on his hand before?
Was the talc removed making their hands slippy?

Did an irate elephant let rip blowing him off target?
