'No God' slogans for city's buses

Bendy-buses with the slogan "There's probably no God" could soon be running on the streets of London.

The atheist posters are the idea of the British Humanist Association (BHA) and have been supported by prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins.
The complete slogan reads: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."
Atheists strike back!

Just wait for the outcry, "They're telling me to get on with my life and top worrying! How dare those heathens, infidels, blasphemers offend my right to abuse other people and blow things up! I find their non-threatening message offensive!".

"Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest."

I wonder if that poster was allowed if it didn't contain the word "probably"

Good point, I suppose the organization had to make a compromise in order to get their message out..at least it's a shot fired over the proverbial pulpit bow.... :breakfast:

There will probably be an outcry from the zealot fringe...but I doubt it'll have the same ' punch ' as when they removed the ' lord's prayer ' from schools...

it's just another nail in the coffin.

They'll have had to say 'probably' because it's impossible to prove a negative.

The best you can say is that God is improbable.

Very true indeed...

But it "probably" won't stop those Christians from thinking this is a setup of the prince of darkness himself :cool3:

In as much as our organization exists to teach people of the character of God, we do, of course, disagree with the philosophy that "There probably is no God..."

Never-the-less, so long and they do not demean others as they express their beliefs, atheists have as much right to publicly express themselves as others.

We cling to God's promise that "...he rewards those who EARNESTLY seek him" Hebrews 11:6, and we testify to the fulfillment of that promise.

Hebrew 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.
I have faith God doesn't exist.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Now there's an open door to kick in... Anyone who comes to him must believe that he exist.. No shit.. How am I supposed to go to something I believe doesn't exist? And rewards them with what? At least the Qu'ran promises 70 virgins... Now that's what I call an incentive  It's no small wonder these guys all want to blow themselves up...

To be honest.. In the end we're all going to be worm food, nothing more, nothing less.

Strange how you could probably put a sign up saying 'there is a god' and no one would even think about it but put one up saying 'there is no god' and it would probably last a day and be all over the news, protests etc etc

Put one up saying 'there is no Allah and every Muslim in the world would be rioting and blowing every bus up that they could find.

My personal opinion is that there would be millions more people alive if there was never any mention of God, Allah and all the rest of them - religion causes more trouble and kills more people than anything else ever could.

It's weired, you look back through time and read about sacrifices to the gods and hear all about the sun god, rain god and not wanting to displease them etc and think they were pretty backward back then....but people still have the same beliefs now; just in a different god and (mostly) without the sacrifices.

My belief is the virgin Mary shagged someone behind Josephs back, got pregnant, didn't want to tell her hubby that she was a slut so dreamt up the immaculate conception and whole baby Jesus thing, got some free presents from those three king doods' and the world went down hill ever since..and millions of people died in religious wars or for believing in the wrong god etc.

However, most people are scared of dying so the belief that they are going to a nice place and will meet up with relatives and friends etc does serve to lessen the fear of dying somewhat - which is why I think religion in so popular even today, despite all the technology and science we have that serves to provide a more plausible explanation for how life was formed.
Drugs have taught an entire generation of kids the metric system..
