I thought the purpose of an umbrella was to entice an attractive lady to share it with you. Never going to happen with that noobhood.
On the contrary, it would be far more advantageous to get the attractive lady sharing it with you. ;)

Gonna dig up an old thread just because it sparked some personal interest... We all know the war is about control of the oil.... I've been sort of "married into" the oil industry with my wife working in the middle of it, and I've learned some interesting things as a result. What I hear from that end...

Good stuff Undies... I like your points on the difference between religion and faith. Personally, I'm of the opinion we tend to place way, way too much emphasis on religion. In my eyes, faith is the "what" and religion is only a means or a tool toward that what. Faith is absolute, defined, and solid...

The end of religion. That doesn't make sense to me...Many debates that gridlock have nothing to do nor are influenced any way by religion, so removing religion would at best only remove part of the problem. It's only a partial solution. Second, not all the religious are as you describe. I'm certain...

Rapier, I think you missed the point I was trying to get at. I'm trying to focus less on the sides of the issues and more on how people process the sides. BTW, and Intelligent Design are not the same. Thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware of that. Reading up on the history behind this m...

Obstacles to Enlightenment

So I notice this section seems kinda dead...given I haven't been by for a month or two and coming back I see I'm still among the last people who posted. I've got a topic I think could stir up some good discussion. I've been toiling over it in my head for quite some time now... What will it t...

I have a lot of mixed feelings on this topic... All in all, I'm tired of hearing constant gloom and doom when the USA has it pretty darn good. Gas prices are up, there are some economic issues, sure. But I just spent a week on honeymoon, spent liberally, drove excessively, and all that after going t...

Not what I would call a modern, civilized response. Doesn't modern society have to become civilized first? :P Yes, the verses are in the Qu'ran.. But they're badly translated and pulled out of context. Don't know if that's correct as I don't now much about the Qu'ran and I sure can't read Arabic. D...

Harb is on to something there...Our government has become far more centralized than it was ever intend to be.

And we could start correcting by dissolving the IRS...

People need to start shouting "no taxation without representation" again.

If a home user has UPnP active on their router they deserve to be Pwned...IMHO I'd disagree with that. Most home users obviously don't know anything about the inner working of their router, lest everyone become IT specialists. However, they know enough to know that connecting directly to their mode...
